Forklift Truck Attachments

There’s new inventions everyday when it comes to forklift attachments. Here’s a few of the common ones currently used by industry:

  • Slip Sheet / Push Pull – The slip sheet system allows product to be moved and stored using cardboard or plastic slip sheets which replace pallets, thus eliminating pallet costs and increasing storage density. This system is commonly used for loading of export shipping containers where the internal space is limited and the use of pallets is unwanted. Slip sheets come in a variety of materials and sizes, there is no standard size and thus allowing loads and sheets to be matched to each other, providing maximum storage capacity.

    • Sideshifter – this is a hydraulic attachment that allows the operator to move the tines (forks) and backrest from side to side. This allows easier placement of a load without having to reposition the forklift truck.

    • Rotator – this attachment has several applications with the most common being emptying trash cans. This attachment allows the tines to be rotated a full 360 degrees

    • Bale Clamp – Designed to handle bulk baled products without pallets. These can include waste paper, textiles, recycled plastic, rags, scrap metal and many other bale-able products.

    • Drum Clamp – The drum clamp is a mechanical attachment that slides onto the tines (forks) and connects to the side shift hydraulic hoses. It grabs the drum by means of two steel arms and is positioned between the rolled steel lips of the drum to prevent slippage. This attachment usually rotates forward 180 degrees , allowing drums to be tipped out.

    • Carton Clamps – This design allows palletless handling, which in turn saves money on pallet purchase / rental, transport costs & storage. Rubber faced articulating contact pads provide maximum load contact and evenly distribute clamp force, allowing minimal damage to delicate products. A wide variety of contact pads sizes are available and the clamp opening ranges and amount of force applied can be easily adjusted by the forklift truck operator.

    • Work Platform / Man Basket - a steel cage style of platform that slides onto the tines (forks) and is used for hoisting workers. The basket cage has railings to keep the worker from falling and brackets for attaching mandatory safety harnesses. A chain is also used to attach the work basket to the forklift to minimize movement on the tines.

    • Double Pallet Handlers – A four fork attachment that allows the handling of two pallets side by side for rapid loading / unloading. The width of the tines can be hydraulically adjusted from the drivers seat by use of the standard side shift levers.
